For generations the Stenberg Family has been dedicated to producing the highest quality animals, whether it be range livestock or dogs. As a seedstock oriented ranch we have investigated various genetic enhancement systems in our search for genetic excellence. As a result of our efforts to create the ultimate companion dog. We developed the Golden Pyrenees. The Golden Pyrenees is a registered Hybrid resulting from a mating between an AKC registered Golden Retriever and an AKC registered Great Pyrenees. It has long been known by livestock breeders that a Hybrid animal delivers the maximum amount of heterosis “or hybrid vigor” resulting in a 30% increase in longevity, greatly enhanced health, freedom from inherited defects and overall a more superior animal than either of it’s two parents. This is true of the Golden Pyrenees. The Golden Pyrenees takes the fine qualities from both parents and amplifies them into a superb companion dog that not only has the loving, fun seeking personality of the Golden Retriever but also has the bonding guard instinct of the Great Pyrenees. The Golden Pyrenees was researched, developed, and is bred solely by the J Bar Stenberg Ranch and is recognized and registered under the ACHC of America and parents under the AKC of America. In short, the Golden Pyrenees is a culmination of two popular breeds of dogs carefully and deliberately mated to create the ultimate genetically superior dog.
