The ride begins at 9 A.M. sharp ( Montana time) and ends around 4 P.M. The ticket price includes a lunch served at High Point provided by the St. Ignatius Chamber of Commerce. The route is chosen and led by Bison Range Officials. Mission Rangers Saddle Club members will aid the officials in supervising the ride. The ride covers about 12-15 miles and elevation gains of about 2000 feet may occur in as little as one mile. We do not refund tickets because of adverse weather conditions. Be prepared for spring riding conditions. Our motto is “Rain, Shine, or Snow…GO, GO, GO!”
For the safety of you and your horse, you can expect steep, rocky, shale-covered mountainous terrain. Horses should readily cross water so as not to be a danger or impediment of others. We ask that you stay on your horse! Unconditioned, overweight, aged, high-spirited, misbehaving, and green horses will be turned away at the gate without refund. All riders must also be experienced and in good physical shape, without medical conditions that could in any way inhibit their capability to complete the ride. Riders must be prepared to control their horse in this large group setting. Once past the gate, there is no turning back. Riders are expected to keep up with the pace of the ride and to be able to tie their horses safely and correctly during the lunch break. We are not liable for injury to horse or rider on this ride.
